Careers at SIX SIX

SIX SIX is an independent optometry boutique on Little Collins Street, where clinical care and considered eyewear sit side by side. We opened in January 2026 and have been quietly building something we’re very proud of: a space designed by Kennedy Nolan, a collection drawn from some of the world’s most interesting eyewear houses, and an in-house edger that lets us cut and fit lenses on the same day.

We’re growing, and we’re looking for people to grow with us.

Open roles

Optometrist

Maternity leave cover, with the opportunity to stay on
3 to 4 days per week | Part time or full time (4 days) | Melbourne CBD

This role begins as maternity leave cover, but we don’t see it ending there. SIX SIX has plans to grow, and we’d love the right person to grow with it.

You’ll work in a calm, beautifully considered clinic where appointments are given the time they deserve. Our patients come to us for thorough, unhurried eye care, and they stay for the experience. You’ll be supported by a small, close team and the convenience of same day lenses, so the care you begin in the testing room carries through to the final fit.

You’ll bring:

  • General registration with AHPRA and therapeutic endorsement
  • A genuine love of patient care and clear, warm communication
  • Confidence working independently in a boutique setting
  • An eye for frames, and an interest in how eyewear can change the way someone feels
Optical Dispenser

3 to 4 days per week | Part time or full time (4 days) | Melbourne CBD

At SIX SIX, dispensing is where the clinical and the creative meet. You’ll guide clients through a collection chosen with care, help them find frames that feel like their own, and see each fitting through with precision, often on the same day thanks to our in-house edger.

You’ll bring:

  • A Certificate IV in Optical Dispensing, or at least three years’ experience in the optometry industry
  • Strong technical knowledge of lenses, measurements and fittings
  • A natural sense of style and a love of eyewear as both craft and design
  • Warmth, patience and a high standard of client service
